Raised in Tennessee on radio tapes and a cassette player. Rap, alternative, country — whatever came through the speaker went in. He wasn’t picky, and he wasn’t passive about it. He was listening in a way most kids weren’t, absorbing without realizing he was already building something.
He started experimenting in high school — messing with sounds, seeing what could be made from what already existed. But he didn’t get serious until 21. Something shifted. What had been a hobby became a calling, and he started treating it like one.
His specialty is sampling — not pulling loops and dropping them underneath a beat, but flipping them into something completely unrecognizable. He digs through decades of recorded music and finds the pieces nobody else is thinking about, then pushes them somewhere new. The goal is always the same: make it feel familiar and completely foreign at the same time. That tension is where he lives.
